FROM APRIL 2014 ONWARDS: SEGWAY TOURS

03/05/2014

Probably from April 2014 onwards I will offer tours with the very popular segways through the inner city of Vienna as well as in the outskirts. Starting point always will be at Parkring. Currently I‘m busy in developing the exact tours and the price formation!

INTERNATIONAL TOURIST GUIDE DAY

01/30/2013

Free guided tours | 24th of February 2013 | Leopold Museum

A must for local citizens and local tourism and travel industry partners. Get to know the professional tourist guides and your ambassadors to the world!

The International Tourist Guide Day is an initiative of »WFTGA« and is held around 21st February each year. In 1990 it was held for the first time, 15 countries participated. Since then, tourist guides in an ever growing number of countries have been giving help to their local communities, conducting tours for disabled persons, disadvantaged persons, for children, industry partners, officials and the general public.

It is a public relations event par excellence, drawing the attention of local authorities, fellow citizens and the media to the quality and value of the work of professional tourist guides.

The Leopold Museum is a unique and active museum awash with light in the heart of Vienna and the biggest cultural magnet in the MuseumsQuartier. Besides exciting special exhibitions, it not only houses the most substantial and most important collection of Egon Schiele worldwide but also masterpieces by Gustav Klimt. In no other museum in Vienna one can get so close to the fabled »Fin de siécle Vienna« and witness the birth of Modernity. A further focus of the museum is on the Austrian interwar period, which brought out many important artists like Albin Egger-Lienz, Anton Kolig and Herbert Boeckl and partly points already in the direction of the second half of the twentieth century.

Free guided tours in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Slovak, Czech, Romanian, Croatian, Polish and Russian at 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Please register on February 24th at our meeting point: Viennese Tourist Guides‘ Welcome desk at the Leopold Museum (MuseumsQuartier, 1070 Wien).

LAUNCH OF GET VIENNA

08/08/2012

Finally, after months of photo safaris in the inner city or on cemeteries in the outskirts, GET VIENNA went online! It was very important to me to show the guest many (beautiful!) pictures of this wonderful city. For me a tourist guide website without pictures of the respective city would be just half the battle!

Therefore I would like to thank all the museums/institutions, which kindly provided me with professional photographs of their collections! It is partly due to them, that this website went out to be so richly illustrated.

I hope you enjoy visiting my website! And drop in once again for the content will be continously extended!
