From the beginning of their rule in Austria in the 13th century until the end of the monarchy in 1918, the Habsburgs lived and resided in Vienna, thus making this city the centre of European politics and history for more than 600 years. Each Habsburg ruler left behind his or her traces and not only influenced the image of the Hofburg but also life at Vienna court itself.

In contrast to most residences, the Vienna Hofburg is not one unified palace complex but an asymmetrical complex that covers 240,000 m2 and consists of 18 wings with over 2,600 rooms, 54 staircases, 19 inner court yards and squares and two large gardens.

This tour includes a walk through the Hofburg, a visit of the St Augustine Church and the ceremonial room of the former Court Library (admission fee is not included).

Duration: ca. 2 hours.
